Data and Statistical Modeling Analyst

We have a career opportunity in the Modeling and Analytics Department within Risk Management for a Data and Statistical Modeling Analyst.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the reporting needs of the Modeling and Analytics team, assisting in the administration of Third Federal’s Model Risk Management program and participating in the validation of statistical and operational models used throughout the Association.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, prepare and maintain analytic tools to measure loan performance including monthly performance reporting, portfolio migration reports, delinquency roll rate analysis, etc.
  • Develop, prepare and maintain analytic tools to measure application and origination activity.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and create appropriate management reports.
  •  Provide insight and interpretation of statistical and analytic results.
  • Assist in the validation of internal models surrounding performance stress testing, probability of default, loan loss severity and others.
  • Participate in the validation of the Association’s use of external, third party models for behavior modeling, asset/liability management and others.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics or other analytical field
  • 1 to 3 years of recent experience employed in a statistical or analytical position
  • Current experience in the development and validation of risk or financial models
  • Strong knowledge of statistical techniques and proven ability to analyze large sets of data
  •  Working knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, or similar packages
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven ability to prepare clear and meaningful analysis and communicate results to a wide variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of database structures, database querying tools, banking or financial experience, and/or prior programming experience is a plus

Information Technology Intern (College Student only)

We are looking for a College Student to work as an Intern In our Technical Support Desktop Department during the Summer at our Main Office Campus. The job will entail working with our experienced Desktop Support Specialists in a Tech Support/Help Desk role. You will assist with the repair and optimization of our Dell Windows 7 desktop machines, printers and answer calls for desk side assistance with hardware and software issues.

Requirements for employment consideration are as follows:

  • Current attendance and enrollment as a fulltime College Student working towards a Computer Information Science or similar degree.
  • Windows 7 experience to include comfort with navigating the network configuration in addition to troubleshooting hardware or driver issues.
  • One year of experience working on resolving computer hardware issues in a support role preferred.
  • One year of experience working in an office/corporate environment.
  • Outstanding customer service skills to include professional grammar and demeanor as well as positive, proactive, and friendly interpersonal skills.
  • Must be an active college student for Fall of 2014.
  • This is a temporary job for the summer only.
  • Hours average 37 1/2 per week.

Business Analyst w/J.D. Degree- Multi-State Residential Lending

Third Federal’s Multi-State Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding and interpreting regulatory requirements and will work within the lines of business to ensure compliance with State and Local laws and will ensure Federal Exemptions are considered and understood.  Working to support our business, he/she will provide expert knowledge and manage external resources to determine operational and system changes necessary to comply.  He/she will work in a cross-functional team environment with associates across our business to ensure implementation and maintenance of necessary requirements.  

Job Duties:

  • Research and monitor federal, state and local legal requirements for residential mortgage loan origination, servicing, default servicing and loss mitigation in states the Company operates in or intends to operate in.
  • Recommend and facilitate changes required to accomplish expansion into new markets and ensure compliance in existing markets with applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • Recognize when external resources should be consulted and provide leadership and coordination of external experts (legal and document) to ensure successful discovery, implementation and management of the requirements of applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • Provide advice, influence activities and make sound judgment calls with regards to the Company products, services and operations and the relevant legal requirements. 
  • Obtain and maintain a basic understanding of origination and servicing systems used for residential loan processing and servicing, in order to ensure recommendations made are done so with consideration to systems constraints.
  • Prepare, review, analyze and negotiate legal and related documents.
  • Anticipate, identify, assess and provide counsel regarding legal risks associated with state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct team meetings to communicate information and changes.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience practicing law related to mortgage lending, federal, state and local regulatory compliance, and real estate. Experience using tools like Allregs and/or Westlaw.
  • Proficiency with residential mortgage and equity line/loan products and documents, including a general understanding of multi-state lending. (3 to 5 years)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze/research state level regulations.  Experience analyzing federal preemption relative to state requirements. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with internal department associates and external vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and formulate and recommend alternative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and objectivity in resolving complex issues.  Ability to foresee how one decision may affect something seemingly unrelated.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Juris Doctorate degree required.
  • Must possess admission to practice in Ohio.
  • Legal and Mortgage lending experience must be current.

Cisco Network Administrator

Third Federal Savings and Loan Association is currently looking for a Network Administrator with strong technical skills, good customer service skills and the desire to expand their skills. The Network Administrator will oversee, configure, and support the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet subnets. The candidate will maintain the network by performing the necessary maintenance to support the availability and functionality of the network's hardware (routers, switches etc.) and monitoring the network's performance (traffic, bandwidth, capacity). The successful candidate will also be involved in future upgrades, working closely with the IS security group and the Windows administration groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and manage Cisco Routers and Switches.
  • Provide management with design enhancement recommendations involving the network.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance.
  • Participate on project teams.
  • Troubleshoot network issues.
  • Maintain configuration backups.
  • Create and maintain documentation.
  • Develop disaster recovery plans.
  • Maintaining current levels of software and patches.
  • Support business needs including adds, moves and changes when necessary.
  • Provide direction and support to Tech Support associates when troubleshooting.
  • Limited amount of travel required.

Requirements: 

  • BS in Computer Science or related field (work experience will be considered).
  • 3+ years of recent hands on Cisco experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Cisco switches, routers and IOS.
  • Thorough understanding of routing protocols including TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, VRRP, OSPF.
  • Competent in overseeing management of Routers and Switches, updating Switches to new code, and building and configuring Switches.
  • Competent in Layer 3 Routing.
  • Competent in Trunking.
  • Competent in design and support of cabling systems, fiber, cat5, 6 & 7.
  • Competent in WAN carrier designs.
  • Competent with 802.1x security protocols with nac or Cisco ISE.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Strong Network design background.
  • Strong Team and organization skills.
  • Experience designing disaster recovery and contingency planning.
  • CCNA training and or certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Solar Winds and TACACS a plus.
  • VMware knowledge is a plus

Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Job Summary: Third Federal Savings has an opportunity for a qualified candidate as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist.  This position is responsible for the evaluation of bank regulatory compliance systems within the Association; the review and evaluation of internal control systems; communication of identified issues and necessary changes to ensure compliance, and making recommendations for systemic changes to ensure proper internal controls and regulatory compliance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining a regulatory compliance program for the Association
  • Consult with functional areas for implementation, especially in the area of residential mortgage lending
  • Assist in maintaining the Association's compliance guidelines
  • Ensure that regulatory information is disseminated in a timely manner
  • Maintain and oversee self-testing program utilized by business units, with focus on lending areas
  • Support implementation of corrective action
  • Assist with new product development
  • Advise and consult with associates and managers throughout the organization on related consumer protection laws and regulation requirements. 
  • Research and analyze new federal banking laws and regulations and work with operational departments to develop adequate compliance procedures
  • Keep abreast of all laws and regulations relating to the Association's compliance activities, including, but not limited to:
    • Lending Regulations: Truth-in-Lending (Regulation Z) Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Flood Insurance Requirements and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Regulation C) 
    • Other Operational Regulations: Fair Lending (ECOA, FHA), FCRA/FACTA, Fair Debt Collection Act, Privacy of Consumer Financial Information (regulation P), GLBA, and Information Security  
  • Perform additional duties as required

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree required in business or related field
  • 5-8 years recent experience working as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist dealing with residential mortgage lending  
  • Knowledge of bank regulatory consumer protection laws and regulations, including applicable OCC and CFPB regulations  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to accuracy, ability to prioritize, and a positive, proactive attitude
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are required
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated; computer proficient (e.g. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects providing actionable solutions
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply laws and regulations to business situations
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) desirable
