My loan officer, Angela, was a great to work with. She was thorough, knowledgeable, professional and very helpful throughout the entire process. I found her available via email or on the phone when I had a question or needed clarification. She had a few days off during the process, but the woman covering for her was just as great. I can’t say enough good things and I highly recommend Third Federal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed My wife and I closed on on our new house on September 4, 2020. On July 31, 2020 we told the loan officer that we were vesting our new home in a trust and that we did not want my name to appear on any recorded documents. You’re bank promised us they could do this and that we would be able to see all of the documents before they were signed by us or the seller to make sure they were correct. We later found out none of this was ever communicated by the bank to the title agency. My name appeared on documents that were signed by the seller and also on documents that were to be recorded. We begged your bank to update and revise these documents before closing. Sadly, your employees did not care and told us that any changes were the sole discretion of the bank’s closer, who we were not allowed to contact. We asked your bank branch employees if our docs would be fixed prior to closing and they said they didn’t know. One employee even chuckled at this question. We also never received follow up calls from your bank when promised and to this day no one from your bank called to see how closing went. Even our title agency was unable to get your bank to respond. Luckily, our title agency was able to get us through closing but your bank did not help at all and you failed to live up to your word. Because of your failures my name can been seen on recorded documents. This is extremely disappointing given the assurances from your institution and the advance notice we provided. Your employees were indifferent to our needs and provided no follow up. This was a terrible experience for our first home purchase. We absolutely will not recommend you in the future. Your continued lack of follow up shows you do not care. We wish we could give no stars.

IT issues, process shortcomings requiring emergency visits to the closest Third Federal branch, etc. contributed to a less than desirable experience.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Home Mortgage As a customer I had trouble with the loan officer getting the details of the loan correct, especially the closing information which would have costed me an extra couple thousand dollars at closing. At times the blame for the mistakes were directed by the loan officer to the customer. Also, the appraisal was late which could have cost me the purchase of my home. If it would not have been so late in the process and other purchase contracts would not have been delayed then I would have switched to my secondary lender. Thank goodness my realtor was on top their game to help.

Needed a bridge loan to make it all work and Third Federal couldn't have made it easier to sign things and stay up to date on the progression of both loans. Any questions was promptly answered. This is my third mortgage with This was my 3rd mortgage with Third Federal and it was nothing but issues. Our closing date was changed without our consent, it was difficult to get in contact with our loan officer, issues between insurance and third federal, issues between title company and third federal, and now I find out that my checking account was not entered in for my first auto pay payment. Just when I thought we were finished another issue comes up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lost Paperwork Customer service was good throughout our mortgage process, and everything was done in a timely manner, but after we closed on our home we received two phone calls informing us that an important document was lost and we had to drive to their office to sign it again. A month later, they called us about the same document and said it had been lost again and that we would need to come in and sign it for the third time. No explanation was given other than and they had no clue where the document was, which is very concerning considering it includes all of our personal info on it. They even informed us that they assumed it had been taken care of since it had been a month, which means no one followed up to be sure it was. We are disappointed about the mishandling and lack of follow through to make sure all documents are properly and safely received.
