Mobile Deposit FAQs

Mobile Deposit lets you quickly deposit checks from anywhere using your mobile device. Just enter the check information, take a picture of the front and back of your check, and securely submit your deposit.
Yes. You can access the Third Federal Mobile Deposit feature by logging into the Third Federal Mobile app. This feature uses the same multi-layer security as if you logged on from your desktop computer, which is designed to identify you in a number of ways.
Be sure you are enrolled in Online Banking and you’ve downloaded and installed the Third Federal Mobile app for your mobile device. If you already have the Mobile Banking App, make sure it is the most recent version.
There is no charge to use Mobile Deposit, but standard data rates from your carrier may apply.
To properly endorse a check for Mobile Deposit simply sign your name and write "For TFS Mobile Deposit Only” below your signature on the back of the check.
Login to the Third Federal app and select the Check Deposit function. You then select the account to deposit to, and enter the amount. Next, take a photograph of the front and back of the endorsed check, and press Deposit. You’ll get an email when your deposit is received. If the deposit is not accepted, you will get an emailed explanation of why. (If you do not receive an email, please update your email address by logging into Online Banking and click My Settings).
It is suggested that you retain the check(s) for at least one to two weeks after you make the deposit in the event that the original check is required for any reason. Once the deposit is processed, you can destroy the check.
Deposits made via Mobile Deposit before 4:00 pm EST on a business day will be processed that day and will generally be posted by the next business day. However if you make a deposit on a non-business day – ie on a Saturday, Sunday, or a Federal holiday we will consider the deposit as being made on the next business day we are open and processed that day. 
Once posted to your account, our standard Funds Availability Policy, as outlined in your Deposit Account Agreements, will apply.
Per day limits and 30 day limits apply. Limits are displayed within the Third Federal Mobile Deposit section of the app.
To view your Deposit History, click on Check Deposit and select History. Here you will be able to view the date and amount of the transaction. Tap on the transaction to view additional information.
